A while ago I was asked by Coach to style one of their Poppy bags for their MYNY campaign (launching today) and I decided to go for the Poppy Sequin Backpack in Blue Jean to have some styling fun, I wanted to add a preppy, perky and fresh touch to a neutral outfit.

We Have a New Look!

Finally, the Fashion Design blog has a new look. It has been designed to extend the College of Visual Arts +Design web site. We have worked with Innovation Studies grad students Chris Ryan, who handled all of the programming (thank you, Chris). Other new features include:

• You can now share individual posts via Facebook, Twitter, Digg This, Technorati, Delicious, StumbleUpon, LinkedIn, and Reddit.
• You also have links that allow you to contact us via e-mail or support the program at the top of the page.
• You are able to navigate seamlessly between the Fashion Design blog and the CVAD web site.

Shimmer Shimmer

H&M shimmer body-con dress, Su-Shi wooden Clogs

Wearing my Clogs again, these babes just go with everything!
The dress was on sale at H&M for about $10, and although I normally don't like sparkles with this dress I do, hmmm maybe its the summer that makes me appreciate some shimmery play...

I'm still totally into the World Cup! Can't wait for tomorrows games!

Lately I'm wearing my Urban Outfitters turquoise sneakers/"keds" with everything, I added the socks for a bit of a 70s retro vibe, the sneaks are soon up for replacement since I always totally wear them to rubbish, these are my third pair already!!

I had a major splurge at H&M yesterday, can't wait to show all the new goodies ;)

Dujour magazine

I was so happy to be featured in Dujour Magazine!

I directly ordered a print issue of the virgin edition but you can take an online subscription to the magazine as well, I'm seriously thinking about back-ordering some of the previous issues!

I totally need to wear more black.
The paillettes on the TopShop dress are Leather so no shiny plastic, instead a more matte rough texture which I love. I belted the dress just to give it a very subtle change....

vintage YSL

I bought the vintage Yves Saint Laurent blouse a while ago, the navy jersey is a bit faded but I kind of like that and I love the light pink YSL logo and the buttons.

The skirt is made by Sushi from the blog Le Blog de Sushi, I totally hope she will design more soon because I love everything she does!!

I'm still totally hooked on the World Cup! rooting for Holland ;) I so wish I could be in South Africa to follow the games life!!

I found this peach/soft pink silk dress in Beacon's Closet ( Brooklyn ) about a year ago for about $25! Its an ultra feminine dress that I love to mix with black boots or wedges like these..

and... the World Cup soccer has started.. whoohoo :) I wonder if I'm the only fashion blogger following the games though :) haha

..... well actually its just a shirt, but when a shirt is long enough why not wear it as a dress, no?
I just love an easy lazy summer look.. I still need to score some light blue button downs that I can wear like a dress too, most of my shirts are too short..

Leg Jewelry

As most know I'm totally into accessorizing the legs; tights, socks, garters, sock garters and the latest; leg jewelry! The Leg chain is from the Chains of Love and besides the leg chains she carries the most amazing body jewelry too, I love them all, I'm totally drooling over the arm harness and the leg tassel!!

ah... I just need to jewelrise my life more :)

I finally managed to redeem a chic reward at Chictopia's Shop Ugly!
In short; when you sign up at Chictopia (its a social network platform where you can post your daily outfits) or are already a member you collect points that you can redeem for goodies like this straw hat..

So what better way to combine the hat with a basket?! and honestly the basket is like the easiest shopping bag to carry around, I just have a little pouch inside where I keep my wallet, phone etc.
The Scarlet Room lace top was something I was definitely missing in my closet, perfect with jeans and shorts, (they often have the most amazing and affordable tops and dresses!)
