OUTFIT: With my Urbanears

Photobucket

This is kind of how I look lately.. me and my Urbanears headphones have been inseparable! I call them pillows on my ears ;)

This was me waiting for my photographer friend to take some outfit photos! Downside of the Urbanears is that I get sneaked-up-on by people a lot nowadays haha, I seriously don't hear anything when wearing them haha

Photobucket Photobucket

The Urbanears came in a big box delivered to me by Bloggerswardrobe, seriously the best goodie box ever, just wait untill you see the other goodies ;) I think it's just funny how the Headphones have been in daily use ever since I've got them, I never expected that I, of all people would become so headphone depended!

OUTFIT: It's Blue and Knitted

Photobucket

wearing: Esprit Cozy Blue Jumper, Black Jeans, Esprit Blouse, Esprit Satchel, Gestuz Shoes

Wearing the Esprit look that I styled during my visit at the Esprit flagship store in Amsterdam. The weather was grey and cold so perfect for a big knitted cozy sweater in a beautiful blue! I really wanted to wear something casual and comfortable with a very subtle sophisticated touch (the blouse) and used the color of the Satchel as finishing touch.

I couldn't help but leave the store wearing another Esprit look ;)
Wearing a Esprit woolen coat, green knitted jumper, bouclé skirt and Esprit leather Tote!

ps. Guess who was wearing something Red and Knitted? ;)

Esprit's Fashion and the City

Photobucket

I'm invited to the Esprit store to style my favorite look! So exited! So far my favorite items are the colorful knits and matching corduroy pants, the beautifully tailored basics, the checked blazer in electric blue and green and the coats! I'm still balancing between going to style soft natural look with a city sophisticated urban touch or to go for a more Basic look with colorful and bolder accents in accessories! (I'm really loving the bags and the knitted jumpers and think that they would stand beautifully on their own)

What I love most about Esprit's new Fall Collection is the inspirational vibe of the big cities! New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, all these capitals have their very own styles. Also when it comes to fashion.

Gisele Bündchen takes us on a virtual trip to the world’s most exciting fashion hubs in Esprit’s Fall Look Book. Showing us what to wear this season for a shopping tour on 5th Avenue, a stroll along Amsterdam’s canals, a café au lait in a Parisian bistro or a party in Downtown Hong Kong!

What are your favorite Esprit Fall items?

Sofitel New York

Photobucket

Photobucket

Standing outside the Sofitel Hotel on our last day in New York, just before heading out on our "last" shopping spree which ended up being an adventure (all adventure creds go to Yara!)

Since it was still quite hot and we had a lot of walking to do I was wearing my (new) sheinside navy blue dress with Zara velvet loafers, kind of an easy look :)

Photobucket

We were so lucky to be invited to stay at the Sofitel Hotel, based in Midtown Manhattan, a very short walk from Bryant Park and Times Square, the location and Hotel couldn't be more perfect!

I always pay attention to locations for the sake of the trains/subway when staying in New York, especially during fashion week. Around this area you can find almost all the trains you need to go quickly uptown, downtown to the meatpacking district or east!

The Hotel was amazing, really one of the best Hotels I have stayed so far! The room was perfect for the two of us staying together!

Yara's look! I'm so in love with her leather shorts and studded loafers and hemmmm yes, the bag! Yara was also the best Fashion Week Companion ever haha, I don't think I have ever laughed so much! I can still feel my abs!

Photobucket Photobucket

After taking these photo's we went shopping (the most funny shopping spree ever)

It was Epic Yara day; Yara who got a ring stuck on her finger in a store that she couldn't get off making the most funny faces, Yara who lost her camera bag, Yara running around loosing her shoe, Yara running back again, Yara who found her Camera bag again, only to name a few Yara moments and all in just a few hours ^_^ Loved it :) We had some really great laughs! I guess I particularly loved it since its normal me who runs around like a mad woman loosing everything ^_^

Some photos in "our" room, clothing (sheinside dress) and yes, shoes stalled out!

All in all I had such a great time with Yara staying in New york and the Sofitel Hotel and I can't wait for the next NYFW!

Scoular Hall

Dear Fashion Design Students and Faculty,

I have been very involved (along with other faculty) in the planning of our new facility during  last spring, summer, and this fall. Just last week I attended a meeting at which the architects presented a first draft of what our new building on Welch & Chestnut will look like. I must say, I was very pleased to see what they have planned for the Fashion Design classrooms, studios, and offices.  I feel confident that the University officials and administrators respect our program and all of our needs and that we will be able to continue our program as well if not better in the new facility.

Scoular Hall has been a great home for us for the past 20 years and has served us well. I personally have so  many good memories of all of the students, faculty, and great FASHION, that has walked down the halls of Scoular.  Seeing the end of an era is always bittersweet and although we will miss the location, we will continue to have a thriving program and a much better facility to exist, and create in!

I will update you all as we progress in the new building and relocation.

My best,
Janie

Scoular Hall Relocation

A message from Jean MK Miller, Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs, College of Visual Arts and Design:

Dear CVAD Students,

As you may have heard from your professors, Scoular Hall will be demolished next summer to make room for the construction of the Student Union. A new 10-year temporary facility will be built on the Church of Christ site on Welch and Chestnut to house the Fibers and Fashion Design programs, as well as the Texas Fashion Collection. The Church of Christ building will be demolished this fall to make way for this construction project.

The Fashion Design and Fibers faculty and the Texas Fashion Collection (TFC) director and staff have been busy all summer and early fall semester, working with UNT's Department of Facilities Planning to develop an architectural and relocation plan. We are now at the stage where we are reviewing where the TFC, classrooms, equipment, and offices will reside within the building.

While this is a temporary building, we are excited by this next move because it also provides a base for planning as we look forward to designing a new CVAD building in the future.

As this project proceeds, the Dean's Office will keep you updated. In the meantime, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to talk with your professors or contact the associate deans in the Dean's Office at:

Eric Ligon, Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, Eric.Ligon@unt.edu
Jean MK Miller, Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs, Jean.Miller@unt.edu

We thank you ahead of time for your patience during this project.
