Lavalune Internship

Lavalune is a dance and yoga-inspired activewear apparel manufacturing business. The company sells wholesale to stores and e-commerce retail. The internship will involve design, pattern-making, cutting, and sewing samples. Heavier emphasis will be on pattern-making, design, and cutting. There is also an opportunity to learn and use the Gerber design software system at our factory location. The intern may also be able to participate in occasional wholesale sales meetings, tradeshows, or attend the apparel mart.

Qualifications
-Must have good pattern-making skills and good understanding of fit ; Knowledge of the Gerber design software system is a big plus.
-Be able to offer new design ideas
-Must have good sewing skills
-Be detail-oriented
-Be available immediately but hours are flexible; Time commitment is usually 5-10 hours per week, but there could be some busier weeks.
-Fabric knowledge helpful – especially pertaining to drape and stretch capability
Have real samples of your own work (that you’ve sewn) ready to show
-Work from home is OK, but be willing to meet about once per week or as needed (Lewisville area near I-35; occasionally in Denton).

Compensation: This is predominantly an unpaid internship, but you will receive course credit toward your degree. There may be a small fee paid for certain functions if the apparel design sells. More details given during interview.
